Resources // Art Guidelines
The highest quality prints, embroidery and promotional products all start with a great design and high quality files. You can lean on us for design assistance, or use our guide if you are providing your own design services.
PRINT READY ARTWORK-
Screen Print (spot colors) are best when set-up as VECTOR files. Vector files have clean edges and easy to manipulate and edit.
VECTOR FILES: .PDF .AI .SVG
DTG Print or Process prints are likely to be RASTER files. Raster images are built using pixels that are not easily manipulated.
RASTER FILES: .PNG . PSD . JPG . PDF
Embroidery is very flexible, but vector files are preferred if edits need to be made for quality sewing.
VECTOR FILE PREP-
1-Outline all fonts.
2-Flatten your art.
3-Include any Pantone (coated) for color matching.
Things to think about –
Thin fonts and lines can be a challenge in both screen printing and embroidery. It is best to avoid very thin lines (less than 1.5 point lines can start to fade away) and tiny fonts. Fonts less than .20 of an inch start to become an issue when embroidering designs. Don’t hesitate to ask for one of our graphic design professionals for feedback on your art.
Screen printing pricing is based on number of colors in your design – keep this in mind when creating your artwork. We are happy to provide price quotes on various design ideas to help you determine your best course.
